Originally from Chatham, New Jersey, I’ve lived in the Bay Area since 1988.
Since retiring from the medical profession, I’ve devoted my time to nurturing and developing my life-long fascination with photography. I’ve been using digital cameras since 2001, including digital SLRs since 2009.
I strive to use the art of photography to capture the essence of our surroundings. Perhaps my experience in the medical profession has given me a unique eye for detail as a photographer.
I’m drawn to views into nature, both landscapes and intimate close-ups. I love black-and-white photography’s unique focus on form, texture, and shading. I’m also drawn to lighthouses as a subject. For me, they’re austere symbols of solitude and refuge located in rugged coastal settings.
